I inquired about Asterisk... and shot down fast.

Should have asked about VitalPBX or FreePBX, something you can pickup support with. Don't know why, but people like having support available, even tho that's what they are already paying us for!

@scottalanmiller and I discussed... and that was an idea. I knew I could leverage strong support from @NTG and @Bundy-Associates. Not to mention my previous experiences working with same.

It was a hard Nope. Support or no,.. It's sadly not considered.

Oh the fun. We are in the process of getting Autopilot configured and working. It's working,... but I feel there are still some questions and failing points still. And I think the core AD/AAD needs to be addressed. (shrug)

suddenly a noticible chunk of stupid issues just stopped.

Had the same thing happened when I added a 4am reboot to all users systems on Monday mornings.

I would like to add that. But so many of our staff won't be on network, on at that time. Nearly 85% of the PCs are laptops...

      ETA:
That and a force kick from the Citrix and RDS servers at 1am daily.

      Oh for FFS -

An alert has been fired on local host DOMAIN\COMPUTER regarding user myuser. A suspicious powershell script has been found in C:\Users\myuser\Desktop\Teams_ODfB.ps1.
Please let us know if this is legitimate.

      This is the script

       Start-Process -File "$($env:USERProfile)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe" -ArgumentList '--processStart "Teams.exe"'
       Start-Process -FilePath "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Microsoft\OneDrive\OneDrive.exe" -ArgumentList "/background"

Which only starts Teams and ODfB.... Like.. JFC -

Looking for a new radio, as I managed to sell my main one yesterday. ... which was a bit of a surprise. Not sure I want to deal with an external tuner on the next one,.. but just means more up front...

      It's between these:
      FT-991A ALL-BAND, MULTIMODE PORTABLE TRANSCEIVER
      24a7c03c-b002-41f4-a23d-2a25225865af-image.png

      or

FT-891 HF+50Mhz ALL MODE MOBILE TRANSCEIVER
      8be4e647-8924-4050-bbb4-a351b7fea9c4-image.png

I would need a tuner to go with the FT-891, whereas the FT-991A has it internal. It's been a long time (cir 2000) since I bought a new primary radio,... it's over due...

What kind of radios are those? CB?

I'd definitely go with the 991A if it's got the tuner built in.

GASP He said Ceee Bee... GAH

Hahaha - Amateur Radio or Ham Radio. Likely the route I'll go is the 991A, as as stated,... it has the internal tuner. And beats having to manually tune things as I had been.

      \ that group
      \ New group

      =user 2
      =*user 3

So - uhm, yea,.. we have this group that is a member of a group, but has disabled users in it....
Yup - seems perfectly normal... OmFG!

Meaning - lets not remove disabled users from groups and just leave them 'laying' around ADUC

Looks like it's going to be a long day.... It's AD Password change day - I've been here 90 days.

      So, that's
      .AD
      .OneDrive
      .Teams
      .Outlook
      .Sharepoint

That I have had to manually update... (shakes head).

      ROFL. Good point. Post fixed.

Although some days, I wonder if it isn't easier to turn criminal. Had $1500 disappear from my checking account over a period of 4 hours yesterday. Fortunately, I was at the bank about 30 mins after it started happening, lol.

Ouch - I have heard that happening more and more.

There's a powershell to help with that.

get-aduser | remove-aduser -- the AD Equivalent of rm -rf

Well ,... I will at the VERY Least - kick to the disabled folder.

We are moving forward with a complete ADUC re-do.

Why - because it's a .EXE file and the FW blocks it... Like really? oFFS!

guest network - then zip it and mail it to yourself? or something to that effect

heh - basically what our off site contractor did... Still.. I get security - esp with PHI involved. But you can't break the tools that your support people need.... jeez.

oh - I I don't see it as breaking tools IT needs - I need they need to provide a solution for IT - such as the one I suggested - or a separate network for IT to use that doesn't have those things blocked.

yes - there needs to be a path - an accepted and useable path - to get the tools and such needed. So that one doesn't 'break the system' and end up with a data breach... That... That would be a very bad thing (to happen again).
