lol. I will listen to a song many many times in a row, memorize it, then drop it.

As far as the living on 'bare necesseties' I am in an apartment, with a chair, desk, and computer. Though food is usually a toss up and we aim for the cheapest solution. Usually Little Caesars.

Without extensive research I cannot tell you what would be best, but you can check out this page from Cisco, as they offer five different options for recording your calls. Might be able to help you out. http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/collab09/clb09/recordng.html

Man, I came into this thread with one in mind, but now there are like ten that rank pretty high to me. I guess I have been too disconnected to cereal recently. As far as all-time childhood favorite, Frosted Mini-Wheats. But every single one of these sound amazing now and I kind of want to go buy some cereal to eat. lol.

    • RE: Phone routing - looking for a solution?

@Dashrender This is partially hypothetical as I do not have the ability to test this anywhere right now, but in freepbx you can set a max callers limit on a queue. I THINK once that max caller limit is reached it will hit the failover destination, which you can set as another queue or ring group that is your secondary set of people set to answer phones.

Does this sound sufficient for option 1?

Many, many communication applications have this option. It is an option.

To keep it in the taskbar as a duplicate functionality of two buttons? What other software does this?

      Lync, for starters.

The FreePBX site has install instructions for building your own. Don't try anything except the CentOS 6 version. The others don't work.

@Mike-Ralston did a FreePBX on CentOS 6 install on Friday with @FiyaFly if there are any questions.

They are your experience. If you wish to make these claims ensure that your state as much and do not broadly claim something demonstrably false.

Just to bring this full circle, it was my experience with trying to install FreePBX onto CentOS7 that for some reason or another, one that I didn't get the chance to track down, It doesn't seem to play well with their new recommendation of MariaDB instead of MySQL. Couldn't get the UI to properly connect to the backend, then when trying to do a reload from the backend I crashed the entire database, and this was before we even added anything to the config. Clean install. So, I dropped it back to CentOS6 and ran with MySQL and was able to get it up and running. I ran into some minor issues with that as well, which if needed I can discuss, but it was definitely a lot more manageable than the issues I ran into on 7. On 7, we got the Die FreePBX errors, which are just plain bad juju. On 6, sometimes we ran into a permissions issue from the UI, but the integrity of the database was solid and never faltered.

If you have any questions, shoot me a message.

In this scenario, calls happen as expected, and the IAX2 channel usage is normal.

So, with IAX2 channel usage being normal... There is none? From my understanding in a default configuration, you're running an IAX2 trunk between the two sites, but internal should be the default communication protocol (Which I cannot remember if it has to be IAX2 with that trunk or if SIP will suffice)

What type of extension are you using?

    • RE: Add Fax support to FreePBX

Have you tried this? No experience firsthand with faxing with FreePBX. Usually I'd recommend Elastix for that. Has built in packages to accommodate faxing. Otherwise, try this:

yum -y install spanDSP libtiff libtiff-devel
