It also appears to count ads that are commented out in code. So it is blocking things that are not there, as well.

Late to the party, but it was I and someone else at MangoCon that dug into it and found that counts all unused/unshown ads

      @gjacobse

If you haven't already drop 17x.xxx.210.1 into arin.net and see who owns it.

For more fun once you do the lookup on ARIN take the AS number and drop it into bgp.he.net then look at Graph v4.. Then you can see fun stuff like how your ISP is interconnected with others.

I am not familiar with who Fibrant is, maybe TWC is there upstream/reseller.

      I'm confused.

IPchicken/What's my IP are sites that do little more than tell you the IP source address in the IP packet sent to them.

tracert is a command that finds the path that your packets travel to get to a location on a network.

      Right -

Let me add that I'm showing a Fibrant IP, but I am suppose to have a static TWC IP.

Are you saying that 17x.xxx.210.1 from your first post is a Fibrant IP? How did you determine this? We can see from your tracert you are taking a TWC route (the second hop is rr.com (road runner).

Like @scottalanmiller said tracert won't get you your IP, just the routers on the way out.

I have one on order to try with my home automation software -- right now we use followmee.com on the phones but this would be better from a cell phone battery standpoint. Also plan to use https://amzn.com/B00EECXAY8 to extend the OBD port to hide the tracker better.

    • RE: Ubuntu Server 2 Network Interfaces whith 1 that is public + 1 that VPNs back home

Depending on what your agreement includes, how much you plan on hosting in azure, etc. You may want to look at the VPN gateway, essentially a vRouter that can communicate with your azure private networks and create a site to site tunnel back home. Make sure not to confuse this with ExpressRoute.

@wrx7m said in Joining/Binding Macs to AD Domain - Should I Bother?:

The point for these users is the Mac OS

Is this business case or just the users want to have it?

If there is no business case behind it why add the complexity of managing another OS?

Now to @Minion-Queen point if it isn't broke don't fix it, I agree with that stance, but when it comes time for refresh I would be having the conversation.

Install Windows over the OS. Join domain, for non-intensive or specific tasks MacBooks make the best Windows machines.

At least this is what we do for users that insist they must have them.
