RE: Who Has Lost Their Job to the Cloud
I have heard this fallacy most from what I like to call "server huggers". Usually goes something like, "we just moved everything to xyz cloud and then IT was eliminated". Further digging typically reveals they didn't posses the skill set to manage the new cloud offerings and was replaced by an outsourced operation. Easy to appear that cloud is to blame; just as easy to debunk.

I just finished booking now so I will be there!

RE: FreePBX Asterisk Music on Hold Streaming Sources
Cleaning up my old post and marking it solved. After taking options and cost to the business we ended up staying with the bundled music.

RE: If you are new drop in say hello and introduce yourself please!
Just posting to say "Hi!"
I realized I had been a member for 30 minutes and not posted, knowing myself if I didn't do it now I never would.
Thanks to @scottalanmiller for talking to me at Spiceworld 2015 and telling me about this site, I already see it will be a great asset for business and pleasure.
Cheers!

RE: Who is Attending SpiceWorld 2016 Roll Call
My plane arrives 2pm on Tuesday, as with @JaredBusch the technical content seems thin, might be my second and last year as well

RE: LastPass just double their price
@wrcombs said in LastPass just double their price:
Ok, So i have to ask.. What is the difference (if any) in the free version and the paid version?
Ive been using the free version for about 5 months and it works just fine on both my Phone and my laptop..Features that lured me to premium. Feel free to educate me if this has changed:
- Device sync: I have Last Pass across 4 PC, 1 smartphone, and 2 tablets. The data is instantly available across all devices
- Two-factor: TOTP is what I have on my account
- Sharing: I am able to maintain my own LP account but securely share credentials with my wife or others as needed.
- App fill: At least when it was launched, filling in apps and forms on smart devices required premium
I think that is all I need premium for.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now

Still doing Sage updates.
Our finance team stopped paying for maintenance two years ago.. That took care of me having to do Sage 50 updates. :face_with_tears_of_joy:

RE: Do you use Antimalware software in addition to Antivirus software?
@DustinB3403 said:
@WingCreative I would expect the Endpoint solution.
Anything not centrally managed is just more costly to attempt to manage. At any size.
Maybe I am reading this wrong, but I think what @WingCreative was asking is the Malwarebytes Endpoint Security $50 vs Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Business $30 , both of which have centralized management.
According to This comparison chart the only difference between the two is "Advanced anti-exploit protection
(Patent-pending exploit mitigation technology)"Please correct me if I am wrong; however, I am not sure what "Advanced anti-exploitation" is other than a marketing term, let alone is it worth an extra $20 per PC .

As someone mentioned in one of the other threads -- PowerShell... I've written a few scripts for managing an RDS Deployment... It's crazy all the things you can do with PowerShell...
I agree, I think anything PowerShell would be a great value.

RE: Planning MangoCon
Wow, I just looked from Minneapolis to Nicaragua for that time frame on United and came up with $250.
This makes me sad because the three tickets I just picked up for Orlando were $650 each.
Why does airfare have to be so crazy?
To keep on topic, I would travel outside the US for a good conference.

RE: Do you use Antimalware software in addition to Antivirus software?
@scottalanmiller since you are the only one who has said they are running this. I have a couple questions that I think add value.
- Are you running MBAM for Business, MB Endpoint, or some other flavor that us mere mortals don't have access too?
- If using MB Endpoint can you qualify what "Advanced anti-exploit protection" is?
- What is your take on Malware protection on production Windows servers (AD, file, print, SharePoint, etc) -- is it required?
According to the techspecs they say the product is unsupported on server core installations, I would think any Windows device is susceptible to malware if one tries hard enough.

RE: Letchworth Park
Sooooo, I thought my outbound flight was 5:32am Saturday morning, turns out it is 5:32pm. Any space left on this trip / is there enough time to get back for my flight?

RE: How Many Ads?!
@scottalanmiller said in How Many Ads?!:
It also appears to count ads that are commented out in code. So it is blocking things that are not there, as well.
Late to the party, but it was I and someone else at MangoCon that dug into it and found that counts all unused/unshown ads
