I like it, but I don't really find myself attached to any of the characters, other than the wolves. I have not read the books, because the first one started out so slowly, that I just wasn't interested in continuing. I don't know if that makes a difference to caring about the characters or not. Thoughts?

RE: Random Thread - Anything Goes
Aww he's cute. I wish I'd gotten a pic of the garter snake that lives under the door mat.

RE: Real Science vs FaceBook Science
I think having spent so much time on the right makes it harder for me to argue against the left.

RE: MangoLassi Meetup in NYC
I wish I could make it, but we'd need a sitter.

RE: Design help
How about a nice charcoal case with ntg.co in orange? That case is burning my eyeballs.

RE: My new website
It did take a second for the background pic to load for me as well.

RE: Bits and Bytes (1983)
Although the format made me laugh and they are incredibly outdated, the videos really do explain everything in easy terms.

RE: My new website
Great idea Gabi, and I like the look-n-feel of the site. Scott started posting tech stuff on SGL for similar reasons, and I always find it funny when he's looking something up years later and Google returns him his own blog post, lol.

RE: Teens Viewing 1997 Internet Training Video
Oh my gosh, this is hilarious. I love the kid that said he used to sneak on Barbie.com when his sister got up.

RE: MangoLassi Meetup Ideas
Just make sure that there are non-curry Indian options, just in case there are some of those weirdo "I hate curry" people in attendance.

RE: Reading Rainbow for the new Generation
I think that using kickstarter is pretty similar to having originally been on PBS. Pledges are pledges. I didn't even realize that there's an app. I'm going to check it out, because Reading Rainbow was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid.

RE: Game: The Ship
We have some serious podcasting going on this week, but maybe @Nic can play next week while I'm away?

RE: Game: The Ship
I think that Francesca might like this game. We need to play it while she's up in NY so that I can describe it to her and see if she's interested.

RE: Game: The Ship
Sounds like a cool game. We are going to have to play against each other when we have time. Does the multiplayer allow bots so that 2 people can play against each other without it being so obvious who the other player is?

RE: It's all about the chocolate chips
It's so funny the the Miller peanut butter and chocolate chips tradition has spread. I forget that not everyone eats peanut butter out of the jar with a spoon, ideally with dark chocolate chips, until someone outside the family hears about it and reminds us that it's not exactly normal, lol.

RE: It's all about the chocolate chips
Actually, I was trying to get rid of candy, so the cookies have a few m&m's and Reese's pieces too, and Ciana insisted on some rainbow sprinkles. I haven't tasted them yet, lol.

RE: Kitchen Conversions
Scientists use the metric system, probably because the math is so much easier.
