I use htop, but usually end up using ps aux and then grepping what process I want to check.

I'm going to show my age here, I've always used ps -ef | grep. The aux switches weren't all available way back when IRIX was still a thing.

Well, I didn't know that ๐Ÿ™‚ So something else for me to learn.

Customer dropped us and decided (because they are into "buying" their way out of problems rather than knowing what they are doing) to rip out their UBNT gear and go with something without telling us. I'm guessing SonicWall based on other factors. And now, surprise surpise, their phone calls don't work. But instead of admitting what they did and asking logical questions, they instead ask "what ports need to be open" as if you can "open ports" for scores of phones. Clearly they don't understand how to manage the IT process, nor how basic networking works, nor how to put in a ticket. Something tells me this is going to be a long road ahead for their new "IT Manager" who specializes in "replacing outsourced services."

๐Ÿ™‚ Sonicwall and their Consistent NAT setting...

      1. If you have bad actors inside your network, you probably have bigger issues than them sniffing DNS traffic.

      2. Very few client devices or operating systems support any type of encrypted DNS lookup. This is just one small step in the journey.

Oh I know, but that's where you should start, check internally and the go externally. I am just saying it because anyone that would like to claim their site to be secure and then just have clear text internally is kidding themselves.

@wrx7m said in Android WiFi and RADIUS - CA Certificate Warning?:

I was setting up someone's Android phone just now and noticed that there was a red warning under CA certificate- "No certificate specified. Your connection won't be private."

I have AD username and password authentication via a Windows RADIUS server with PEAP and MSCHAPv2. The only cert I have is the one that the RADIUS server is assigned by my local CA. I know that iOS makes you accept or trust the RADIUS server's cert, but haven't remembered seeing any mention in Android. I just don't remember seeing this warning. Is this normal behavior in the current version of Android Oreo?

Yes, it is normal, I have it to not validate unless I have the CA certificate installed on the ANdroid device.

Any distro will work. FTP is a "generic" service that is the same between them. I'd use Fedora myself, but anything will be fine. Any standard distro you are already using is what I'd go with.

So would I. Just used the "CentOS" moniker because any black box he bought would likely be that or Ubuntu underneath.

I was going to say, I havenโ€™t need to buy anything from someone for FTP.

      @gjacobse said in Server 2008 Exchange 2010: Event 1009:

Nearly all of the Exchange issues I deal with right now really come from O365.

However I was asked about Exchange Mail Submission server that was throwing Event 1009, and effectively stopping mail flow. What he found via forum (not ML) searching was 'a back pressure issue, but the Event Log wasn't logging in back pressure messages'

While it's been four years since directly touching a Exchange system, the term 'back pressure' is not one I have heard before.

However, looking up Exchange Event 1009 give me a few options including limited disk space.

Has anyone come across the term 'Back Pressure' with Exchange in the past?

Yes, it is when the server is running out of space or resources for delivery of incoming emails

Do you guys download all the Flash Player updates in your WSUS's?

Flash player is incredibly important to keep updated.

OK, so that's a yes, thanks.

I went through my updates manually and removed alot of garbage, got it down from 200GBs to 97GBs.

I only want updates for W10 Pro x64 and 2016, does around 100GBs sound right for those 2 OSs or am I asking a pretty open ended question?

Windows 10 has the Updates for all versions as they apply to all Windows 10 of that Version , be it 1607, 1703, 1709 or 1803. You can see what I have selected on my WSUS Server below:

I have only 35 GB of WSUS Files used (I do monthly cleanups)
