RE: Random Thread - Anything Goes
just need to vent a little. I seriously don't get people that cold call you wanting to sell your service. I mean i get why they are doing it but when I tell you i'm not interested and then they keep going, that annoys me. However there is a line you shouldn't cross and that is looking up a person on linked in and then requesting that potential client to be your "professional friend" that is just creepy (to me at least). I understand that linked in stuff if we have/are going to be doing business but just after talking and i'm telling you no what makes you think I will accept anything of the sort....
ok i feel a little better now. Back to work i go.

RE: SW, I just don't get it
@CHaynes2013 if you are straight up implying that someone might be drunk because you cannot understand them, yes that deserves to be removed. While understanding that this and SW are mainly English speaking sites you have to keep in mind if you don't know the person or they are from a different nationality their English will be moderate at best. The bigger question is why are you getting upset by having your "are you drunk" post removed? It adds nothing to the conversation or line of question. The user in question as @Bill-Kindle has said has a different way of communicating than we do. If you don't know the person don't make such public comments about his use of HIS second language. Play nice and you won't be moderated. Mod's delete posts for reasons, if you have an issue with it raise it with them, don't come to a different site just to complain about the other because they are doing something that you don't approve of.

RE: Tips for a first time property buyer?
we bought our first house just over 2 years ago here how it went:
both had jobs
got pre-approved (but just because we got pre approved for a certain amount didn't mean we wanted that large of a payment)
looked at 30 houses over 2 month
went under contract
paid for several inspections
walked away after said inspections found foundation damage (lost cost of inspections)
looked at 6 more houses
under contract and we moved in
wife lost job the day our first mortgage payment was due
wife got very sick (massive debt from medical bills)
stayed in house and doing awesome now.always have a contingency fund (that allowed us to stay in the house for a year before she got a job and was feeling better). Factor into your monthly payment property taxes, pmi (if you don't have 20% down), homeowners insurance (you can call your agent and ask what the typical rate is for a house that you are looking at). Remember to include in the cost of purchasing your house, the tools to maintain it such as a lawn mower, trimmer, hedge clippers (if you have them), in my case I also needed a snow blower and shovels.

RE: Preparing for the storm
@IRJ The models are still not in agreement. The GFS (American model and less accurate) and the ECMWF (European model (more accurate and pinpointed superstorm sandy)) are not 100%. The GFS has the storm pushing further east and further up the coast, the ecmwf has it pushing west and making landfall in florida.
edit: I should add that this all depends on the low that is moving through the great plains right now. If that moves faster then the storm stays further off the coast, if it slows down (or stays at its current pace) the storm will make landfall further west.
I found this cool weather site (http://preview.weather.gov/edd/) where you can turn the different layers on and off. Such as the current hazards (across the US) and see any current tropical storms (tracks and intensity).
