RE: Troubleshooting XO Update Script 1-31-2017posted in IT Discussion
@BRRABill Was this the installer script or the update one?
I believe that I've seen this before as well. Did the script continue to run beyond this point? If so, I think it is ok because it built from source when the binary wasn't available.

Yes, so everything is hosted within the same environment. No need to go out to StarWinds or HALizard.
We should start another thread where we compare / contrast these different products.

What code changes were you making previously?
Here's one example where this could occur.
What do you mean? If you change the code and restart, it will always be modified in the running system. Always. Your example here doesn't state anything contrary to that.
Did you actually add that functionality and not have it work?
We added the functionality to XO and it does work. https://github.com/Jarli01/xenorchestra_updater/commit/a3d8f60cff8cbfc3bc4c1a09346f2d786c759052

True, but only after running the NPM command post modifications.

Builds correctly using yarn instead of npm.

RE: XO Community Edition Update Error - XO-Webposted in IT Discussion
@Dashrender Yarn apparently does a better job to maintaining packages and updating dependencies.

RE: Dharma ransomwareposted in IT Discussion
@Dashrender Oh.. they are definitely stepping up their IT game. New MSP is hired already. I'm reviewing their $26K proposal, which includes new security devices, new server, new backup appliance, etc.
Some of their recommendations call for solutions that I don't have experience with, so I'll start another thread to seek input on that.

Secondly, on my system at least, yarn wasn't installed
Looks like the actual command to install is missing. According to their website, the proper command would be
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install yarn. -

I'm sure @DustinB3403 will get it fixed up shortly.

Could it simply be that there is a newer version of the fix for XS 7.1? The prior discussion was for 7.0.

FWIW, an updated version (5.7.2) of XO was released earlier today.
P.S. Thread needs tagged.
