      The Orville S2 E9: Identity, Part 2

      So good.

Those kaylons race kind of reminds me of another race. I just can’t think of who.

They are kind of like the Cybermen from Doctor Who. Except they have a reasonable goal in mind with a trauma to make them a sympathetic villain.

This is in my watch list. just haven't had time.

Definitely worth the watch. It's a really good adaptation of the comic and all of the actors are spot on.

Also when trying to stream fortnite, his upload is crap. Dropping alot of frames (i dont know anything about streaming). so not sure if this is part of it. He has tried setting OBS to render the stream on the GPU and CPU, same issues. We have Oceanic Cable (Now Spectrum), and have 200/20)

This could still be a CPU issue. Streaming does take a surprising amount of CPU power. Not convinced it is but it could definitely be.

Have you run a speedtest from that machine?

@wrx7m just curious, to you, what sets the WRX STI apart from the rest of the cars in that price range? It seems like a nice car, but I've not owned one like that.

Yeah, what the others have said. It is a car for people who like driving. It is also very reliable and very customizable. There are tons of aftermarket products and support for it. You can add some exhaust and intake bolt on parts and get an ECU tune by a pro and easyily get 30% more HP and torque without affecting reliability. My current car has 350ish HP/Torque to the wheels and I am almost to 143K miles and it is 12 years old.

Subarus are also stupid reliable. Most of my friends who are Subaru fanatics have vehicles that are well in to the 300K mile range and still going with very little maintenance outside of an oil/fluid change.

I will also add, that in the past few years and based on my recommendations, my parents, my girlfriend, a good friend and a co-worker/friend have all bought Subarus. Each different models and they love them.

I really like the Crosstrek. Probably my favorite style they offer right now. Really wish they would bring the Baja back.

Driving a WRX is seriously one of the most fun things I've done. It's got an amazing amount of power for the price. And handling under acceleration is just awesome. It's a ton of fun to ride along with someone racing one too.

I understand. I would have liked that maybe 15 years ago, but now I just drive easy and would never notice these.

Oh yeah. It was my dream car when I was 16.... today I drive a minivan and am extremely happy with that.

Two cars ago, I was looking for nice car for my wife. I found a '98 Acura 3.0 CL. What I didn't realize, was that I was really buying my 'midlife crisis'. Too much power, runs on the back roads like it has DNA for it. Few things feel as nice as a hot car.

Haha, I'm only 29... plenty of time before I'm allowed a mid-life crisis. If I want to go fast I do it on the snow.

I just found out from a Hulu ad that Varidesk is not just made in Texas, but super local to us right by the airport. They have an office tour there that you can take now to check out all of their stuff. Right in Coppell, that's their HQ.

I actually have a varidesk and love it. The only thing to be concerned about is depth of the desk. If your desk is not deep enough, some of the varidesk will hang off and could compromise the stability of the varidesk. I've had mine rocking a few times. Other than that, they are great products.

I find that I usually use mine in the standing position, but there are times where I will lower it down.

      If the desk is a-rockin'?

Is wireless mesh the next big thing? Especially with the new 802.11 draft proposed this could be a serious contender against wired everywhere.

Maybe in mansions, but in a normal home? I have a 2,000 square foot awkwardly shaped house with external walls in the middle of the house and I don't even need new equipment, nor high end equipment, nor central placement, nor proper wall placement for my single AP to cover the entire house, yard, and street by the house!

I can see that. It probably wouldn't fly in the enterprise space either. I could see if you needed to cover an outbuilding or a garage.... but point-to-point would cover that much better.

But there is in no way the general expectation that a Type 1 hypervisor is and should also be capable of being a daily driver.

This is where you go off the rails. Since this is common and everyone knows that this is a normal expectation, why would you state something that you know can't be true?

People need desktop virtualization all of the time. And in the modern market, there is essentially no reason to ever look at the only good Type 2, VirtualBox, because it is not nearly as good as Hyper-V or KVM. It's not as fast, or not as safe, and certainly not as easy.

The only reason anyone still considers Type 2 is because some people want Windows Home, and there is no Type 1 option.

I can see for Gamers who also need to do some VMs they may not want the Hyper-V overhead and would aim for type 2.... I hae no idea how much overhead Hyper-V actually introduces though.

I thought that at one point, but it is essentially zero. Gaming is fine with it.

So you run games in a guest VM?

With Hyper-V and Windows 10, your Windows 10 installation becomes the management domain for Hyper-V.

So no, it's not a VM.

      It's a VM.
