      @coliver said in Resume Critique:

@kelly Yes, that section is still a work in progress, it's the current job so still trying to figure out how best to highlight the projects and responsibilities. That's a good suggestion and I'll work on incorporating that in that section.

Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean you shouldn't put it on your resume. I would include everything. When talking about projects, say what you did not what you participated on. When in an interview, you can talk about what you did but more importantly you get to talk about what you're most interested in. The resume isn't really about what interests you, it's about what you know. Character and interests get displayed in an interview.

just get the ISP modem as long as it is a one time charge not a rental. if not force them to specify a compatible model.

If they require a router, make them bridge it into a dumb modem. Your ERL can do the PPPoE. I have that setup on a CenturyLink connection in northern Arkansas for a client.

ERL is still on the list of things to get. It would be a one time fee. So this is probably the way to go.

And by so many, I mean a few. But I know some, and I know zero that use Mac hardware and all run MacOS. Thirty years of consulting, seen many of the former and zero of the latter.

We have a doc that demanded a Mac laptop, even knowing that he will have to have windows to access some remote access stuff. /sigh

Install Win 10 on it. Will run great

Does Windows 10 automatically detects all drivers or we still need the boot camp drivers?

      No boot camp needed

None of that is the EdgeMax series.

That is all the original wireless stuff before even the Unifi line.

Yes it is all still currently available, but not nearly as horrible as that article is trying to insinuate.

All that gear should be behind a router normally.

Ya I was looking through it and noticed that. The tough switch was in there, but that's the only non bridge type device I saw.

The tough switch has been a dead product for years.

Ah didn't realize that. I've seen it for sale a few places, but never noticed they weren't produced any more.

It might still be produced, but it has not been developed against at all.

A linked article on that page
      https://www.engadget.com/2016/10/28/digitally-mobile-wallet/

This reminds me of the electronic transfer devices used in the William Shatner book Series turned mini series, TekWar. Except it's contactless.

Though there's still tracking of the transfer, so compared to cash or BitCoin, still not a fan.

Even 7% is significant. You don't do that casually, that hits the news like a ton of bricks. Your customers see that as you having problems. Not an image anyone wants to project.

Maybe customers don't like it, but Wall Street certainly often seems to.

That's because Wall St. makes the most money from companies in flux, not those succeeding. Wall St. is about momentary gains, not long term survival. What's good for Wall St. isn't good for the company itself.

Yep. To achieve that you'll need to use one of them. When you're the only one using the VPN, it's kinda obvious who it is.

Yeah the ones I was looking at seem to thrive on anonymity. Even going as far as accepting store gift cards for payment and not logging anything on their side.

Johnhooks has a great point, as long as it's managed correctly, this could be an awesome idea. Though logistically, I'm wondering how IPs get assigned and transported to the end user with not NATing.

Because you route. That is how IP works.

Yeah, we were surprised too. But before Captcha we had thousands of bots in almost no time. Afterwards basically zero. A few got through, but they looked manual and never posted. We cull heavily, so the rolls remain small while the number of accounts made over time are much higher. We've had probably 10,000 accounts actually created. Maybe less, but many thousands for sure (I manually deleted nearly 4,000 of them personally almost two full years ago.) We delete all the time, but now it is "as they are created." The mods get a message that an account is created and if it is obviously a bot or spammer, they get deleted within a few minutes.

The ones I see most commonly are "London escort agencies."

      Resurrecting an old thread.

We ran into this issue again after updating to the most recent version of Azure AD Sync. We needed to set the mailnickname attribute in AD for the mail users to be created again. This was in addition to having the targetAddress declared.

      Thanks for following up 🙂

It does work really well, especially for form building. It's a trial thing, so it'll expire after a period of time. Porbably worth it if you're doing a lot of PowerShell work, tho'.
