Moving from Apache and mysql
Now that I have the new server setup with Centos7, and migrating my wp blog to the new server, I am even thinking about changing the webserver and DB too!
Thinking about replacing Apache with Nginx and mysql with MariaDB for my wordpress. I don't see any glitches in the migration, but just wanted to check with you guys, if this is a good decision.

RE: Time Keeping, Billing and Payments
I've used Freshbooks for my freelance works, the moment I start a work for them, I use my Android freshbooks app, select the client and select the billable project, start the timer, Once the task is completed, when I stop the timer, it logs the timesheet+ create an invoice with the standard hourly charges I set in the freshbooks system! Pretty neat, can then track the overall time spent, send consolidated invoice to client, get paid and close the task.

RE: Sharepoint file server+Collaboration
Gladinet seems to be pretty good, almost 30 minutes, I was able to plug in gladinet to tier up with our test AD and netapp shared drive, and publish already enabled home folders for users by importing from AD to gladinet. Now testing that with Pertino installed home machine. So far I am happy, need to deep dive into Gladinet and see the features.
On a side note, I think this will work well with desktop clients with Pertino, but not sure how this can be accomplished via Pertino smarphone client? Is there any way I could connect Perino mobile client to the network and use the local browser/gladinet app to identify my remote server?

RE: Sharepoint file server+Collaboration
Has anyone tried Gladinet? http://www.gladinet.com/
Currently checking gladinet. I am thinking of Gladinet+Pertino for file sharing, provided I get a decent speed via Pertino. Still working with Pertino support to sort the speed issue

RE: How do I make sure my server is secure?
Check out Lynis. It does a full scan on your server and give you a report on the security.
http://www.tecmint.com/install-lynis-auditing-tool-in-rhel-centos-fedora/My list is as below:
Setup server
install lynis scan and fix the security issues.
use webmin and install configserver firewall.
Check server security with that, can tweak a lot of settings with that to reach a good security score.
Lock down access to specific IPs like to few network/Vpn/to jump server.

RE: Sharepoint file server+Collaboration
Seems like Netapp has an option. SnapManager software enables automatic placement of files and BLOBs on SMB (CIFS) shares outside of the content database to improve the scalability of large SharePoint deployments.
http://www.netapp.com/us/products/management-software/snapmanager-sharepoint-server.aspxI am checking on various option to use our existing Netapp SMB/CIFS shares with a SP kind of tool which will enable users to collaborate. Owncloud is another option I could think of, but need to check the enterprise version i guess, as on the community, I couldn't find SMB/CIFS.
I might need to change the title from SP to any solution which can help me setup a document library with collaboration, revision features!
