Anyone using more than 2 monitors
-
Aside from @ajstringham (I think), is anyone using more than 2 monitors?
-
I was the first one to get two monitors here. I think if I put another one on my desk, people would freak out.
-
I have three of my desk, but the third is for working on other machines.
Is was the first to have dual monitors, but 7 years later we're around 60% dual now.
-
I have two atm, but trying to convince the wife to let me bring in my spare 32" LCD TV (which has HDMI input and a decent resolution) to use as a mega large CAD display so when my boss and I are talking about something, neither of us have to squint.
-
My dad has four in one office, and three in another office.... yeah he has two offices... in the same building...
-
I have 2 27" offices 1 28" at my desk. Along with Synergy connected to my laptop. and 2 tablets.
-
IT staff should always have one more monitor than other users. It helps show we're special. So once everyone else in the company has two, it's time to get yourself a third.
-
Too many monitors and you don't notice stuff anymore. More than two and it's too far in my peripheral vision.

I'm the same way. If I were to have a third monitor it would only be for static info (like a network status dashboard or something)

I did three for a while. Went back to two.

Why would you bring something from home? I can see if it's for you personally, but for the situation you describe... I can't believe the company can't sport the $300

True, but I have to scrounge for even small things.

@Bill-Kindle still it's their money lost on you lacking efficiency. All you did was justify them not buying what you need because they managed to get it to come out of your salary.

Exactly. I will do something for my own personal gain (for example I bought my own chair because the crappy ones the staff get here are just awful). But I won't be buying a projector so that my meetings with my boss are easier to see.. if anything, I'd find the smallest monitor around, and swap it out to where ever we are meeting so hopefully they will allow it to be replaced with something reasonable.
-
I used to have 3, but I actually prefer my new 2 larger monitors to the 3 I used to have. They completely blocked my view of everything in the room, and I rarely used the 3rd one.

This inspired me to ask for another monitor

I am watching so many people, webpages (think ML, SW and various others), email, lync, and Skype. 3 monitors help me keep organized.
-
With my current work flow, I do not feel a need for more than two right now. That said, If I need to start keeping my notification dashboard up more than I do now I will be getting a third.
