Does SAM work?
-
With the speed I've been seeing some of @scottalanmiller reply's coming in not just on here but on SW as well got me thinking.
Does he actually do a job? or is his time spent on the forums giving free advice to people that would cost ££££ in consultancy fees lol.
Don't get me wrong i'm sure like 100's of people i'm grateful for the advice and the amount I learn just from his posts and articles.

SAM is not just one person. He is a collective of people all posting on the same account.
The SAM Bot collective is taking over ML now.

I promise it has nothing to do with my latest question

http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1424967-how-would-you-stop-a-sentient-aiI'm convinced that SAM is a burgeoning seed AI who has already become self-improving and is now just biding its time obtaining resources.

Best organic ai implementation I've ever met!

Posting is part of his job.

Actually it is more than part it is about 80% of his job.

@Breffni-Potter "What are we going to do tonight SAM?"
"Same thing we do every night, Pinky.... "

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking Pinky?"
"Um, I fink so, SAM.... but where are we going to find a proper hardware RAID controller at this time of night? NARF!!!"

@Minion-Queen I've gathered many of you have worked together or gotten to know each other through your careers, and I've gotten kind of curious what are your goals for ML and GroveSocial?
Do you picture keeping ML as personal, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on a lot bigger scale? Does it kind of happen to sustain itself as part of NTG, and benefit anyone here at the same time?
-
Scott and I have actually known each other since highschool. He was the best man in my wedding.
ML/Grovesocial: There are lots of lines crossed but this is separate from NTG it's self. NTG is my day job but I own ML/Grovesocial. NTG is the technical support for the platform and obviously Scott is also part of that NTG team and as a close friend he does a LOT to help me out around here.
My Goal for ML it's self is to keep the team for ML small. I do not want to get massive, as that changes the overall way things are run and how personable we can be.
ML is almost 2 years old! We have just started advertising here and will also be having MangoCon in September of this year. The goal is to keep MangoCon at around 250 people, maybe a little higher than that over time but we want to keep it small enough so that people can really get to know each other.
-
We also plan over the next few months (I hope) to hire a full time community manager and bring in more vendors for you all to talk to and get to know.
