BleachBit to Replace CCleaner for Registry Cleaning
-
CCleaner used to be free and the go to choice for registry cleaning but licensing and costs changed and it is not the great solution that it used to be. I've recently discovered BleachBit which is a free and open source replacement for CCleaner that has been around since 2008 and works on Windows (including Windows 10 now), Mac OSX and Linux!

Awesome - nice to use a free tool!

Yeah, I am excited to have come across this one.

Softpedia link didn't work for me, so went to http://bleachbit.sourceforge.net/ to download. I have the virus total configured, where I can right click any file and send to virus total for scan and the Detection ratio: 3 / 56

I don't trust sourceforge, so there probably is something nasty hiding in there.

If you want it on Windows...

Hope its just the sourceforge and NOT the package itself infected

Sourceforge is a known malware "dealer" that hides malware in things that they download.
