Wow.. I'm guessing the criminals don't read/watch the news.. so they are unaware of the number of home burgles being shot. So it's no real surprise that the rate hasn't gone down as the rate of CCW, or simple ownership has gone up (assuming those facts are true).

I used to live in flint and I remember crack houses being burned to the ground by concerned neighbors. Michigan is pretty hard core.

Ever seen the Charlie LeDuff news specials? They are on youtube and while most have a funny undertone he does actual reporting on core issues with Detroit asking the tough questions.
