Microsoft SAM Self Audit
-
What a weird mistake to have made.
-
@iroal - Glad that worked out for you. I had a similar experience with a bad Workbook, and Microsoft ultimately sent me one without macros. Still, I find the process incredibly flawed. I wound up "venting" about it in a blog post. http://www.efficiencynext.com/microsofts-deeply-flawed-sam-evaluation-process/

@napkatz that sums up my experience with the SAM audit.
-
@napkatz It's the worse Excel Sheet I've seen in my live, the macros always Crash and there is no support in case of any problem, thy just send you other excel file until one of them work in your computer.
I sent 3 weeks ago the Excel and I'm still wating for an answer.

So, its 6 days shy of 2 months and this is finally complete... they tried their best, but couldn't find anywhere I was short on licenses. What a complete and utter waste of time.

Good for you.
I'm still waiting, two months since I sent the Excel file, they gave me just 10 days to recompile all the information...

Yeah took about 2 months to get our "all clear" report back.

Did they do an inhouse audit?
-
@Dashrender No, it was a SAM self audit...

It must be different today than when I did one several years ago. I didn't actually have to tell them about anything I was using...
I'm assuming you had to count everything you were using so they could compare it against what they had on file for you as purchased?
-
@Dashrender Yes, then provide proof of windows OEM licenses (5 invoices from dell is all they required) They wanted a count of all devices (phones, tablets, MFPs, laptops, pcs) Then they asked what software I had installed and compared what I had to what they showed. They were missing about 6 open-business agreements I had so I had to find proof of purchase on those.
