Forum issue: Long threads

It seems that if I have to clear my cache, it is a long task of getting to the end of a rather long thread. Take the thread What are you doing right now, I had problems with my browser this morning (Chrome) and did an uninstall / install, and cleared the cache.
Now, that thread has 9,000 comments. When I click the arrow to go to the end, it just cycles. I have to close the browser tab and start back at the main page.
Is there anything that can be done on my end, or is it a forum issue?
