Some nice new updates, especially to memory handling.

is it correct to just say Linux and not the Linux Kernel?
and if it is correct to say simply Linux, is that because Linux IS the Kernel?

Correct. Linux is the kernel.
A Linux OS would be a distro or custom built OS using the Linux kernel.

Thanks, and I've corrected my spelling mistake - see I really don't know anything about LInux.
-
Have you played with it at all?
-
lol, obviously you helped me get a Mediawiki installed.
I installed SUSE about 10 years ago, instead Redhat before that, Mandrake around the same time (I think that one's dead ?) and others.
I've just never had a pressing need or driving force to use it for something real. As many of us know with a driving force projects often never get off the ground.

Mandrake was horrific. Ubuntu took their spiritual place in the market - the hardest to use distro marketing hard to make people believe that they are the easiest.

That would be why I bought the box product back in 97? damn where did those 20 years go? anyhow.. yeah I recall it wasn't that easy to setup and I moved on rather quickly.

I liked Caldera back then.
