So @Minion-Queen, what is your hardware refresh policy like on things like tablets?@Minion-Queen:
Well, every few months, on average, I am sent a new iPad or Android tablet or Windows tablet. So I always get the best toys and the rest get filtered down through the company.Interviewer:
So you don't actually buy any of these? looks around room and eyes go wide@Minion-Queen:
<insert mischievously innocent grin>Yeah that's about right.

Yeah, I know it is. Most people would take it as a joke, but although it was meant to be humorous, it was entirely accurate!

How long ago was the Surface Pro 3?
-
That was February. So 3 months...

You should look at the HP Spectre x360. Those things are nuts. They're not trendy, but HP and Microsoft worked together to create the most optimized installation of Windows you could get for the underlying hardware. It is the closest analogue to a MBP in the Windows world.
-
They're expensive, no doubt, but I'd take one: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/HP-Spectre-x360-13-4003dx-Signature-Edition-2-in-1-PC/productID.316333400.

So windows runs slow on it? That was my experience on the newer versions of Mac OS on my latest gen macbook pro.

I was thinking more of the memory and battery optimizations. This thing is an i7 that is rated for 12 hours of battery life. Most i7s I've worked with are lucky to top 3.

Really? My i7 Yoga Pro 2 gets around 5.5 hours
-
The only i7 I had that got more than 6 hours was my old ASUS T300LA-XH71T but it was just to bulky to use as a tablet.
-
hrm, i haven't timed it but i bet i get 5+ hours out of my laptop i7, 16 gigles of ram, and a ssd
