CloudatCost and Pertino

Hahaha. Some friendly bets?

Car Crash? So there is only one fiber connection.. No failover. I'm sure different providers are taking different routes so it's unlikely to take out multiples. And most fiber is below ground (at least in the US) unless it absolutely has to be run on the poles over a bridge or something.
Depends on what the car/truck/vehicle-of-doom hit... The local telephone exchange may have had a meet 'n' greet with a drunk driver.
Either way, no network redundancy is an epic fail for a data center. -
Perhaps, their service is too cheap?
In all senses of the word 'cheap' and phrase 'too cheap'.
As far as Data Centers go, their product is definitely cheap and definitely NOT inexpensive -
I'd like to point out that it's been 2 months since this thread:

The issue appears to be resolved as I can get to my panel but I can't confirm that I can reach my VPS.
For those that are interested, here's a/the(?) outage map that I nabbed.

Two months waiting for the follow up on it, too.
-
My server is still down too. Twenty four hours and they haven't failed over to anything. This is rather epic. If they weren't an ISP too, it wouldn't seem quite as bad.
-
Forty minute ETA six hours ago.... no updates since. Seriously?
-
Still no access here.
-
Another hour, still no updates from CloudatCost, still no access.
-
They have still not responded to these questions from two months ago...
-
Everyone keeps asking why the failover didn't happen.
-

-
Looks like they are still down.

Yeah, this is insane. The worst part is not the outage either. It's their lack of communcation. If they were AT LEAST saying every hour or so "we're still down and we are working on the issue", it would mean more than they possibly realize. To me, this demonstrates a lack of maturity or understanding of how good policy for providing updates during an outage can affect current and future customers.

See if you are back up now.
-
Yup, I'm finally back up and Pertino is working as well!
-
You're actually still going to use it?

I'm debating. I honestly haven't decided yet. I'm more forgiving than most people.
