Something major happening in Turkey. Fighters flying over Ankara, bridge over the Bosphorus has been closed, gunfire heard.... looks like a military coup.

Looks like a coup.

That would be great, seriously, I'd love that. This isn't news either, I mean in the sense of anything new. Been following this a long time:

My younger brother lives in Istanbul, so I'm always interested in how this garbage dump is going.

Holy cow this is epic... Police HQ is under military command, Ataturk is surrounded by tanks, military has announced it has full control of the country...

Oh yeah, I'm excited. This could be exactly what needs to happen. I love Turkey and the current state of things has been heading them towards a disaster. This could turn them around!

Maybe they'd start fighting ISIS rather than fighting Kurds.

No kidding. What a mess it has been. Let's hope this is a pro-Kurdish group taking control.
Turkey's top general is a hostage already.

This is like record fast. Possible total overthrow in like... 30 minutes?

It has to be fast, they have to seize control over all major government buildings in order to maintain control and have any attempt at appearing to be the new proper authorities. I'm sure this was planned ahead for a while.

Had to have been. This was serious coordination. I wonder if Germany curtailing NATO options had anything to do with the timing.

And the week after next they pretend like they never made the prediction, as all conspiracy theorists do.

It's possible that foreign governments consulted in the matter, it's not beyond the scope of the FSB, CIA, or various NATO members to be involved in coups and provide logistical and information support. The FSB has more reason to be involved than the CIA though.

Nope, and I don't need to knowing the web site. It's sort of like asking if I read the article about bat boy before knowing whether or not anything published in the magazine itself was nonsense. It absolutely will not happen and absolutely they will not say "we were wrong," this is a common thing they do.

This after the whole French thing, my younger brother lives in Istanbul, can't get a hold of him. Why can't my family members answer their phones?
