Apache's CloudStack cloud software (the second place industry open source cloud product behind OpenStack) has added support for Microsoft's HyperV hypervisor.

Well this is a cloud. So CloudStack as the cloud layer provides coordination and orchestration of virtualization components. It's a management layer. And now HyperV is one of the hyper visors that it can support.
