That article insinuates that they hit the platform, just too hard for recovery. That is absolutely awesome. A true soft landing would have been a miracle.

Yes, overall it was considered a success. Not what they were hoping for, but quite good overall.

It was more than expected by SpaceX. No one there seriously expected a soft landing on the platform.

This launch woke us up on Saturday morning. I had no idea there was a launch. It scared the crap out of us at first lol.
