P2P Wireless Bridge

I'm in a bit of a pickle with a client. Well, I'm not, but you know. We need to get a new ISP connection in our building 5 story medical complex). Currently only "private" providers can provide access, Metro E, T1s, Fiber. While all these are great, they're usually a bit too expensive as is the case here. SO, was speaking with an uncle of mine this weekend who has worked tech/project management for the army for 15 or so years, and now is working with Motorola and he had a brilliant idea that I was a bit bummed that I didn't think about.
Currently Mediacom provides service in the area, but they have not built out to our location yet, and can't seem to get me an ETA. So what do you think about using two of these to create an invisible connection? I just love ubiquiti gear, and have had good luck with their smaller APs and bridges.

As long as you have line of site, that's the standard solution. P2P wireless works really well. NTG did that to connect Children's National Medical Center and Washington Hospital Center together over a decade ago. Even then it was a rock solid solution.

I wonder if the rocket dish would be overkill for a LOS link over about half of a mile. I suppose I could always just dial back the juice.

Half a mile is still pretty far. Probably a good choice still.

Does anyone have experience with the rocket dishes? Or any other comparable hardware?

I worked for a company that used the old Cisco Areo (sp?) 1400 or some model like that back in 2007 to point to point two sites. Not sure when they originally installed them, but they worked well over about 3 miles.
