Lots of neat projects that you can do with it. It is some cool stuff. Have not had time to play with one but hope that the kids want to try it soon.

There are a number of shields (term used for add ons and such) that go with the Arduino and the Raspberry Pi - making both pretty robust devices

I have some we use them for Gyro and GPS for filming stable video from helicopters.
