Alien Isolation

I'm still working through the Space Quest series with my girls. Completed episode two last night.

Been looking at picking it up, but can't decide between this, The Evil Within, or Borderlands The Pre-Sequel.
If you REALLY liked the original ALIEN, you HAVE to get this...and do know, this isn't a run of the mill FPS...this is survival, gadget building, sneaking, hiding, outwitting...I'm loving every minute of it...

Love those games Scott...I tried to get my Little Girl into Kings Quest but either the interface is not modern enough (I.E. not touch) or she just isn't ready for it. We did play the board game CLUE last night and she did fairly well for a 7 year old...

@garak0410 My five year old plays King's Quest on her own and the three year old watches. I am there to help, of course. The early Space Quest games are too hard because they are the original EGA versions with pure text input as well as output (all information is written, all input in typed.) The KQ remakes with the voice acting and the mouse input she is able to do. The three year old will even do the walking sometimes. We've tried Quest for Glory as well, but that one is a little harder and she needs to be a little older.
Before trying KQ, SQ and QfG series, I started them on some of the more modern games of that type via Steam such as Unwritten Tales and Night of the Rabbit. My oldest has been doing the point and click adventure games since she was four and both girls just love them. And they really get into the stories and puzzles.

I haven't seen Space Quest in forever. Those games were actually pretty awful. Classic, but awful.

I was not enthralled by SQ2 last night for "family fun night".

It's a bit dry when you are sitting all of the way across the room. Plus it has no recorded dialogue which hurts things a lot. The later games with recorded audio are much more engaging.

Yes...Gary Owens was perfect for the voice overs...he is still alive you know...time for a Space Quest revival...
Did they ever go back and record voice for Space Quest V? For some reason they didn't have voice in V but it came back in VI...
-
@garak0410 there has been no remake of Space Quest V to my knowledge.
-
My girls have decided that tonight we are going to start playing Space Quest III.
-
Is SQ3 still on the original EGA graphics like the first ones?
-
No, it is the second generation with the slightly upgraded graphics.

As a LOST IN SPACE fan, I was beyond thrilled that SQ III included the Jupiter 2 in a junk pile...
-
I was a fan of the movie. Never got into the television show.

The LOST IN SPACE movie was vastly underrated and unfairly scorned...
-
@garak0410 it really was. It was cute, entertaining, fun and had a good cast.
-
I think that I have it on LaserDisc.
