MicroSIP config ini resets randomly to default settings

This has been happening for a while now.
Windows 10 Pro 1903-20H2
MicroSIP 3.20.1 - 3.20.4
Clients will randomly have their microsip.ini file reset to default. I have no idea why or how.
I'm using the portable version of microsip.
When there's an update - the user is prompted. If they say yes, they are simply brought to the download website page. No chance my users know what to do from here, so no, it's not getting updated.
Also, I've updated several myself, and the update never overwrites the ini file. -
Would it be possible to change the permissions on the file and make it read only?
Alternative two is to write small program that logs the time when the ini file is changed. Maybe you can determine what it is by knowing when it changes.
