Linux World Up in Arms about Systemd
-
Over the last few days the press on systemd has been getting worse and worse. Does anyone think that the big players will consider turning back and switching back to good, old SysV init?
-
We were discussing that in the office yesterday. I don't know any Linux professionals happy with systemd.
-
ITWorld had an article on systemd this morning too. It is rapidly becoming a hot topic.
-
More news on it too, today:

@Reid-Cooper Old habits die hard.

Now this is a big one, veteran Debian developer Joey Hess is leaving the Debian project and orphaning a few projects in the process over the community's decision to go with SystemD. SystemD is Red Hat's baby and seeing it creep into other projects is just sad and it is going to undermine the Linux ecosystem.
I guarantee that we are about to see the rise of at least one new, major distribution that is going to be completely free of SystemD and a large number of people flocking to it. Red Hat has poisoned the Linux well on this one and is risking major market disruption.
