I'm not sure how I feel about Unifi going all consumery... I suppose it doesn't have to discount their business stuff, but definitely gives me an odd feeling.

It broadens their total investment platform. It's not bad unless they let it become bad, like Cisco. Ubiquiti has had a lot of consumer things in their lineup for a while and for a company that already focuses quite a bit on the small business market, it makes sense as they naturally have a fair number of home users already on their business stuff, too.

My only issue with Ubiquiti is commitment. Products seem to come and go. While I understand not pumping resources into a bad idea, maybe "slow the roll" a bit before showing the masses what you have.
Portfolio expansion is ok, IFF their core products do not suffer as a result. -
