Error While Updating Ubuntu 18.04 to 18.10
-
Trying to do the normal, command line upgrade process (this is for a workstation but the GUI hasn't shown the update as being available yet) and I get this error...
$ sudo do-release-upgrade -d Checking for a new Ubuntu release Get:1 Upgrade tool signature [819 B] Get:2 Upgrade tool [1,263 kB] Fetched 1,264 kB in 0s (0 B/s) authenticate 'cosmic.tar.gz' against 'cosmic.tar.gz.gpg' extracting 'cosmic.tar.gz' Reading cache Segmentation fault

Going to reboot and try again, brb.
-
Ran it again, and it worked the second time.
-
1261 packages to update.
964MB to download.
Might take a little while.
-
It's all installed now. So far, it's looking pretty good.
-
Always reboot before doing system updates, IMO.
