@black3dynamite so you don't need a kiosk, but limited workstations.

Yep.

There is also options for Quick Access now(this actually may have existed).
You can turn it off so that your Quick Access doesnt get filled with a bunch of shit you rarely use.
Just uncheck these boxes. This has always existed. I do not htink it used to be labeled privacy though.
Edit: It was labeled Privacy in 1803, just checked.
Edit 2: Yup, has been since 1511 (the oldest system I have access to)

@black3dynamite So you can setup an account to login, and that account could only use 1 application, say Edge only?
I'm not sure yet. I hope I can somewhat replicate Windows SteadyState.
The last place I saw SteadyState from MS was in Multipoint Server 2012. It is called Disk Protection there. I don't know if newer versions of Multipoint have this or not. Multipoint is a feature you can add to Server 2016+ rather than a standalone product.

MS seems to have removed SNMP from this build. Not listed as a feature in control panel.
dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:"SNMP" /featurename:"WMISnmpProvider"
doesnt work anymore either. -
Oh noes, theyve started their migration of putting the Control Panel Programs stuff in Settings app!
You have to do this from Apps and Features>Optional features>Add a feature> SNMP
Even using
Add-WindowsCapability -Online -Name "SNMP.Client~~~~0.0.1.0"
doesnt work at the moment. -
When is 1809 available for update?
EDIT: Are you guys seeing this in Windows Updates? I am not.
-
-
I installed it on my workstation and one remote user until they pulled the update due to it deleting folders and files in some cases.

WOW! That is a major Fuck up! Although with all the backup software available for end users I say you should have been better prepared

Backblaze said it was great blog post fodder, though.

There is Snip and Sketch, the replacement for Snipping Tool.
Not sure at all, but the only difference between these two i see is the toolbar, and the Sharing option.
I wish the Sharing part would recognize i have Nextcloud installed and give me the Share with Nextcloud option, but it only shows MS options here. -
@momurda Shoot. I wish it would give me the option to share it by Outlook, but it is die hard wanting me to use their Mail app.
-
@momurda Just use ShareX

Share by outlook, do you mean draft an email and send it?
-
@dustinb3403 Basically, yes. But the snipping tool would open a new email and attach the picture to the email before you put addresses in it and send it out.
-
@dustinb3403 Also available from chocolatey too.
-
@black3dynamite I know, that's how I install it on our systems here.
I also update automatically weekly with a simple powershell script and scheduled task. Third party software isn't something I have to think about with Chocolatey.
Besides the "big software" like Adobe Creative Cloud, Autodesk (:face_vomiting:) etc.

I could see the value in that, but what if you had to take 20 screenshots. It just starts drafting 20 emails because it doesn't know any better.
Seems like a weird type of request.
Now if there was <Email client> integration I could see that making sense. I'm not sure how often I'd actually use it though.
