      This is what you get when you try to start the salt-minion on TrueOS via the service command:

      # service salt_minion start

Caching service dependencies …
/libexec/rc/sh/gendepends.sh: shell_var: not found

/libexec/rc/sh/gendepends.sh: shell_var: not found [ ok ]
/libexec/rc/sh/openrc-run.sh: ebegin: not found
/libexec/rc/sh/openrc-run.sh: eend: not found
ERROR: salt_minion failed to start

      I'm not the only one, seems to be a standard issue with how TrueOS is handling RC scripts: https://discourse.trueos.org/t/salt-minion-fails-to-start/2435/
