Travel Advice - Looking for a Reasonable Mountain Cabin

My friends and I are trying to organize a fishing trip to a remote area late spring or early summer. I have started looking at cabins in the Adirondacks. There seem to be plenty available and the pricing seems reasonable. However I wanted to look at other regions in North America (U.S. and Canada) for comparison.
I know most of you aren't fishermen, but many have travel experience that may help make a decison.

I asked my brother-in-law who is a sports fisherman in Wisconsin.
There are a bunch. How far do they want to travel? Look at the thousand lakes region of Minnesota. Western/South-Western Wisconsin, Western PA. All have a ton of lakes and some fantastic fishing. We go up around Obedjiwan Quebec every year to do a weeks worth of fishing, love that trip well worth it.

He's in Northern Wisconsin now and there are a ton of lakes around him. He was going out almost every weekend prior to his son being born.

Travel distance isn't really a big deal. I am looking for something that is around $1000/week. Looking for small mouth bass, muskie, pike, or salmon. I am not really interested in fly fishing for small rainbow trout on this trip. Which rules out Colorado from what I've heard.

I am willing to look at areas up there. What areas offer some good smallmouth, muskie, and/or pike fishing?

We will also either be renting kayaks or bringing inflatables with us. So we will have acess to rivers and small lakes. Not really looking to fish the great lakes on an inflatable though

I am not sure as to the fishing in the area but the cabins in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN area are very reasonable, and I am a cheapskate. That is where I went on my honeymoon.

@irj I know there were some rafting places that took people rafting in the area. My honeymoon was in January so they, of course, weren't operating. I didn't think it was that cold, to be honest, and probably would have been fine in a boat on a river or lake, maybe not rafting.
