Daerma Adventures
-
As I have mentioned in a few other threads while working on setting up some stuff, I have a Dungeons and Dragons campaign that I ran online using virtual tabletop software and eventually VoIP from 1999 until 2008. That campaign was put on hold because my life got just a little busy with a new job and my first child was born.
Well six years later, I am at a much better job with two daughters ages 4 and 6. While I still play D&D in person with some friends every other Friday, am itching to get back into running my own campaign.
The name of the campaign is Daerma Adventures and it is being started up again with a new crew and a new ruleset. Anyone is welcome to join the campaign provided they have every other Tuesday night between 7pm and 11pm free. There is a realistic limit to how many people a campaign can handle but it is not a fixed number. It comes down to play styles and attitudes and personalities. Anyone who is interested can contact me to request an account be created for your to post on the website site.. I refuse to allow open registrations, even with captcha plugins.

Game System: Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition (I will not call it "Next" as that is just a stupid name. What will they call 6th edition in 5-10 years?)
Game Word: My own creation, but I will liberally use published materials in my own fashion though.
Where: VirtualTableTop via http://roll20.net
When: Every other Tuesday from 7pm until 11pm CST/CDT (GMT -6 with standard US daylight savings time in effect)
Play Style: I run games in a high magic fashion. Magic is alive and well in my campaigns. High magic != Free for all. People will need to read old campaign history to get a better understanding of the style. With the help of one of my players, I am in the process of writing up some history now.The Founding of V`Ral: http://daerma.com/history-lore/the-founding-of-vral/
Then a big gap in history because this was the original campaign.

That sucks I would be down completely but my Rifts nights are between 7 p.m. - 2-3 a.m. every Tuesday.

Hope that we can find a D&D group here in NY. We had an awesome group on TX with @Kontazler

Update from Amazon on my pre-order

We also ran a one shot game this past Tuesday to get people into the Roll 20 system for an evening. The game board works well as do basic dice rolling macros.
The integrated Video and Audio was problematic. I need a new solution for that. I was thinking that a Google hangout would work, but in 20 minutes of tinkering I did not figure out how to set up a permanent or recurring hangout. I do not want to deal with a changing URL each game session. If I just go voice, I would use TeamSpeak or similar. that is known and works well. But I want video for those who choose to turn on the cameras.
Anyone have any other suggestions for a voice/video chat room service I can use for this? Or willing to give me pointers on a Google Hangout if I am missing a feature that does exist.

how many people do you have in your game?

I have 4 committed at the moment. I expect 1 more once she checks her email.

That is a good sized group. Our last one was six players and the DM.

I found a lot of old text chat logs on a hard drive buried in the bottom of a box!
