Swipe was used as the example of the new 3rd party keyboards being allowed with iOS 8. No more excuses android people!!

@JaredBusch really i find it to be that people pick sides and once that side is chosen they stay since they are heavily invested in the OS in terms of learning and sheer cost of apps.

              Yeah. I've seen that too.

I have an Android device but don't want to swype.

I disagree @JaredBusch swype a'int going to make me ditch my GS5, I really like my GS5... and I hate swype. As for IOS v Android, that's a whole different debate based on preference of customization vs simplicity. The iPhone is simpler and more user friendly, the android is more complex but can be customized more so.

I hold no grudge to the iPhone, I don't like iTunes, but the iPhone is solid. I just like the feel and custom nature of android better.

i use googles equivalent to swipe which works 90% of the time. I have become so used to using swipe that typing on my phone seems slow to me.

No Swipe wasn't my reason, screen size was and still is. I also prefer SwiftKey which allow swipe and claims to be the smartest keyboard yet! (I agree)

I too use SwiftKey as my primary keyboard on my Nexus 4. 80% of the time I'm swiping on it as it's much easier for me to do one handed. I'm glad that Apple is allowing 3rd party keyboards through their walled garden though. That's progress.
