MANS ALLERGY TO TECHNOLOGY

A former computer technician has been forced to live alone in a tent in remote woodland - because he's become allergic to radiation from TECHNOLOGY. Phil Inkly, of Silchester, Hampshire, suffers from a condition called electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS). He is allergic to technology and all-round radiation that most people don't notice - coming from wi-fi, dect phones, microwaves, computers, phone masses, TV's and even batteries.

Now that really sucks!

A lot of the research on this has found that it is psychological. When they test these people in a double-blind situation, they allergy goes away. It looks like this century's version of Morgellons.
-
Yeah. This kind of sounds like someone just wanting attention.

@scottalanmiller yeah, allergies can have a large psychological component. That reminds me of a funny story about my gluten intolerance. Near the beginning, my wife had accused me of it being psychological in nature. We went to a place called the Texas Roadhouse, where I had a steak and veggies. I ended up getting a gluten reaction, and she didn't believe that there could possibly be gluten in those two things I ordered. When we got home I looked it up online and it turns out they use flour in their grill shortening. It was nice to be vindicated in a completely blind accidental experiment

I wanted to write that @Nic... but it was only my opinion.... looks like you did the research.
-
@Dashrender yeah, I like citations http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_hypersensitivity#Studies

Glad you like this thread guys. But Seriously this is really interesting topic.

I have to go on the record and disagree. Since, as Nic's link indicates it's most likely a physiological issue, and a not a real physical issue, then it's not a real problem. There's nothing to solve (except one person's personal mental health - and that's old school problems.... nothing new there).

If he was allergic I doubt he'd have pictures of himself taken by a photographer, that would cause him some sort of electro rash right?
On the plus side if he really was allergic to electro magnetic area's he could function as a living wifi detector. A somewhat useless super power mixed with a harry potter scar. "Oh god, its close, my scar, it burns" could mean Voldemort, could mean Starbucks open WiFi.
-
Voldemort, Starbucks... Same thing.

I'm allergic to technology, that's why I have to use boxing gloves when I am typing.
