System Lockups with ScreenConnect 6.0.11622.6115 on CentOS 7

We have one ScreenConnect system that has been updated to version 6.0.11622.6115 and runs on CentOS 7. The system has run for a long time, maybe over a year, without performance problems. Not even close to performance problems. Suddenly a few weeks ago we have the CPU going to 100% and staying there for twenty minutes up to indefinitely. We can't figure out what is wrong. The system is unresponsive and the SC site goes down (gateway errors) when this happens. Sometimes it fixes itself, sometimes it needs a reboot. This happens even when there are zero users on the system, so it is not related to load.
- 1 vCPU
- RAID 10 SSD
- 1GB RAM
- 1GB Swap on SSD
- CentOS 7.2, fully patched
- 13% HD used (plenty of free space)
We can't figure out why it is spiking suddenly so high and becoming unresponsive. SC support is looking at it but seems to be lost as well, just wanting us to throw more resources at it saying that our utilization was high (even when no one was using it) so putting all the data here for them to see.
Has anyone seen this or have an idea where to look? Our guess is a bug in SC, so likely only they can resolve this. We have a few other SC systems that are not bumped up to 6.0.11622.6115 yet running in identical configuration on the same platform with none of these issues. Only the one that was updated has the issue (and that's why this one gets updated first and nothing else does until this one is tested.)

It's all %user time that is the issue. Not system, not iowait. So we know that swapping is not the issue and that the OS is not the issue. It's application related.

Here is memory under working conditions (right now):
# free -m total used free shared buff/cache available Mem: 993 708 118 9 166 145 Swap: 1023 399 624As you can see here, 118MB of RAM is free and loads of swap is available. Enough memory is free that we have 166MB of cache being used that could be absorbed if it wasn't free. So memory is not an issue under idle conditions, at least. And the system is in use right now, so this is not even idle.

Any chance you can clone this VM, and downgrade the SC version to the previous version. And monitor both, putting them side by side?

@hobbit666 take a look at your SAR output, any chance that you have one threading engine hitting the wall and one that is not?

We are resizing the instance up to 2 vCPU and 2GB RAM right now to see what happens with more resources available at ScreenConnect support's request. But it is not using the resources available to it now, we are afraid of masking the issue and getting the system limping along rather than fixing it.

No, can't downgrade that easily as the Client version would be different and not likely to re-sync
