Only $130? Nice... Mine is twice that... But I'm still in the original Data plan from like 6 years ago... Unlimited everything.
yep, $130 - now my real bill is closer to $200/month, but that includes the fees for the phones. But we shouldn't consider those fees when we are talking about the base plan costs.
I considered one of those unlimited everything plans - and perhaps If I started streaming everything over cellular, it might be worth a more expensive plan. But today I have 15 GB/month for 2 people.. I rarely go over 5 GB, so unless I drastically change my habits and start streaming music for example... I don't need more.

I have no real travel restrictions. They piggy back off the Sprint network so it generally works. They also allowing roaming to the Verizon LTE network.

I've been WiFi calling on TMobile for years. Works great. Was one of the many reasons that we switched to it.

Well it becomes my problem when they won't call me anymore. assuming I want to talk to them.

The only company that I know of that breaks from this in general is T-Mobile.

My TMobile plan gives all of our phones free unlimited data and text to about 180 countries. It totally changes how easily you can travel.

First time you can't call for a taxi or book a hotel in a foreign country because of your carrier you'll rethink that quickly.

AT&T has the capability but not the plan.
Verizon and Sprint don't have the capability and require you to get another carrier and require that you have a phone from another network type to support it. Verizon needs you to get a Vodafone capable phone and a Vodafone account to do it. No different than not supporting it at all.

Good thing I'm not on Verizon. I don't have a contract, and my costs are minimal. I could feasibly get a throw away phone when I'm in a different county.

Definitely not. With AT&T only do you get to keep your number when doing it. The others you need a new phone number for it to work!
At that point it is cheaper and easier to just buy a foreign SIM card.

LTE is a signally system and a lot of countries don't use it. That's 3G.

Well, other than T-Mobile, it's always easier to buy a new SIM card.
It's what I did last summer.
