CentOS 7 image on Vultr

  • Has anyone used the native CentOS 7 image on Vultr?
Is it a clean minimal image or something else?

  • Yes, we use it in a couple of instances. It's pretty clean, that's for sure. I believe that the firewall is added and I know that it is updated to very recent.

  • Looks like def more than minimal.

Not going to bother making a comparison, just noting that nano and wget are not part of a minimal install. Neither is epel, but firewalld actually is back in the minimal package if you go look at the monthly releases instead of the last "release" which was 1511.
