      Some notable features/enhancements in the 1.9.0 release include:

      • New "Basic Queue" QoS feature for configuring simple QoS policies
      • IPsec crypto offload support for ER-X platform (ER-X, ER-X-SFP, and EP-R6 models)
      • Add support for VLAN and DHCPv6 PD options to the basic Web UI setup wizard
      • New "switch" setup wizard for ER-X platform
      • Use kernel mode for L2TP/IPsec server for improved performance

        These guys are really on top of releases. Their release cycle and feature improvements have been impressive the past few months.

            I plan on buying an ER-X and UAP for home. I see lots of great stuff about these on ML.

                  But ill just create a flat network. No VLAN's for now. I read someones post having a hell of a time trying to learn/setup a VLAN.

                    Not many cases that you would want them anyway, unless your goal is just to learn VLANing.

                          That is because he had no idea what he was doing and was starting in the middle and refused to use the GUI wizard.

                          Also, he supposedly had the VLAN setup on the ERL. He was having problem with tagging on the switch and passing traffic. All of those have nothing to do with VLAN directly.

                                @alex.olynyk It's vendor specific because they all use their own GUI's so the step by step process is going to be different. It can be different for the exact same product too if you don't update the firmware to the most recent update, which I think was part of the reason you were running into issues

                                      Setting up a VLAN on EdgeOS is simple.
