Been Brushing up on my knowledge of 802.11AC gigabit/256-QAM
Hoping to get an AC router at some point in the future...
Don't worry you want have to worry about 256-QAM and it's constellation or error vector magnitude for a installation of a couple of APs.
Do you even have devices with an 802.11AC to make use of it?
I don't care about the AC part of it as much as the seriously increased range you get even with N with an AC router. A buddy of mine has one and just wow...he has a Netgear Nighthawk...
-
But no, no AC adapters or anything at this point...

That's likely due to the annentas. Not that's its 802.11n. 2.4 will have the same range whether 802.11g or n. Its the nature of RF. 5ghz will have much less due to shorter wavelength

Possible, as the Nighthawk series has some beastly antennas. My current router has no physical antennas.

Was suppose to met someone off craigslist to sell a computer. They still haven't shown. Guess wait a bit more before going back home.

Getting ready to go truck shopping and plan an event for April.

that is frustrating. I have a system on CL right now, but I don't expect any takers. Trying to figure out what to do with two XP Pro desktops and two printers.... I might take one of the desktops and make a firewall out of it.

Fun - I'm hoping to not need to do truck shopping for a while. however with the kids getting bigger and getting into (more) sports I'll have to start thinking about something larger than the FLEX we have now.

Well that is no fun on a weekend. However that is a drawback to working in the retail market. something I never wanted to do - nor ever again. I need my weekends...

My full-time job's work week is Tues-Sat. My retail job I work every Monday a full day and most evenings the rest of the week. My only day off each week is Sunday.

This one's an old Optiplex 760 with Win 7 Home 64bit. 8GB Ram, 500GB HDD. Core 2 duo 3.0ghz. and dual 17" Dell Ultrasharp monitors (with the built in usb hubs). I'm asking $130 for it all with the keyboard and monitor + cables included. But I've had a couple people want to me and not show. The others keep asking me will I take $50 for it all, one was wanting it for $75 and another for $90. I think the price is pretty fair but, maybe I'm wrong.

I actually think you're charging WAY LESS than what you should. The monitors are $15 each and the computer is more like $150-200. The cables, etc are just a bonus. If anything you're under what it should be, so I wouldn't take less.

Hope you have a tail wind and s smooth flight.
@thecreativeone91 I just looked, I have an old OptiPlex 330 and 755... I didn't realize the second one was so old. might kill the idea of using it as a firewall.

I use a Optiplex 745 with 4GB of ram for my VMs with ESXI. IF I can't get much from the 760 I might just make a second vm host but I'd rather sale it.
