Its a javascript addon, I'd naturally be suspicious of it.

Update your Java on the machine your using and open the Java Security settings in the control panel. There are several security options in there for this exact reason.

Did you check the security settings in the control panel for java?

                        Start > Control Panel > Java (x-Bit)

If you click on Java there will be several Tabs across the top, one of which is Security.

At the bottom there should be an Exception Site List that you can effectively white-list websites as needed.

JavaScript and Java are wholly unrelated technologies. I've never heard of a JavaScript add on.

This was ActiveX, what makes you feel that there is Java OR JavaScript involved?

Every modern site has JavaScript, but not as an add on. JavaScript is part of the HTML spec.

Since this is ActiveX instead of Java, it would have been pretty surprising that having Java at all would have an impact. I'm not aware of any way to use Java with ActiveX.

The issue here is pretty straightforward. Now that we see the error, there is no add on at all. This is just the web page with a bug in it. It's that simple. The page has an error and is unable to load. Might be caused by having the wrong version of IE. I would try another browser, often places that require IE still work in other things. You can report this to the bank and ask them to fix it. But there is no ActiveX, no Java and no plugins here. It's just a bad webpage.

The error that you stated is not the error in the screenshot.
