AMD Launches new form factor for GPU's
-
Aimed at HTPC / Small foot print computing, it looks to be a slick idea.
They've also integrated some RAM onto the GPU die to increase bandwidth / lower power requirements.

Oooh, this is interesting. I have a mini-itx case I was going to build a LAN box in but couldn't get a decent video card for. Will have to look into this.

Should be pointed out that its not a "new" form factor for GPU's, just that they intend to release more of them this size.

Right this looks to be a significant jump in performance over GPUs in this range though.

@coliver Oh yes, big time.

Looks pretty good.
I'd like to see the thermal stats before I rush out and buy one. It gets quite hot in summer here and I don't have A/C in the area where my PC is. So if it's going to run hot, then I won't be able to use it.I wouldn't mind giving an AMD GPU a go but they suck more power and run a lot hotter than nVidia. Two things that I'd like them to address but they seem incapable of doing so.

It seems that the rumored (or official price) will be ~$600.

With SSDs set to change how drives connect as well, I think that we will see many form factors changing in the near(ish) future.
