So which ones still come with a DVD drive.. Looks like most don't have them. I have a user who needs one with a DVD drive as well as light as possible as they travel.

The Dell 15 5000 series is the 'lower end' of the price spectrum and still offers the CD-DVD-+ drive.

The external eSATA ones powered by the special USB/eSATA port work a treat!

I don't know if they make them anymore but it was a common option on their 12" models.

I wish that was an option but this user provides training at all our location and often times from TVs while his laptop is on a podium.

I was looking at the Dell E5550 (Part # N929T) Which our Vendor show is a new style thiner one that also has a DVD drive and VGA port but Dells site show no DVD for the E5550 http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/latitude-e5550-laptop/pd

So all the dells even the e5000 series no longer has DVD drives or VGA ports. According to ours reps. Going forward only a couple of highend business models will have them (the engineering ones) and some select consumer models. Dell has basically written off DVD drives.
