Azure DC - What's the minimum spec for SMB

Scenario:
5-10 person SMB running an Azure VM as DC.
What would you say is the smallest sized VM you would go for? It's not running anything else, it is just a DC for domain.

A1 or A2 instances are fine. A0 is not. underpowered for it to be as responsive as I'd like.

If it runs Windows, a DC takes immeasurably small overhead in a small shop. It's like reading a notepad text file. If there is enough oomph for the OS to run, that's all that you really need.

That's what I was thinking. I have no idea what the levels for Azure servers are, but I was thinking the smallest that can run Windows is the answer.
Though as an aside, Will you be running a VPN client on it to get back to your network? You MIGHT, then again might not, need a bit more for that.

"Maybe" - Some will want Pertino. Others might be a site to site VPN.

both of those are VPN solutions.

But only one of them uses resources on the physical host. The other uses Azure gateway.

DC's will only slow you down if you have many calls for tokens. unless you have some LOB - SSO sitution the lowest tier I would go is A1.
