Droplet Creation Time
-
Anyone experienced long creation time delays with new Droplets in Digital Ocean? We just created one, FreeBSD 10.1 in Amsterdam and it has been just over an hour and the droplet has not appears on our console yet for us to use. This seems to be taking a long time, if this was elastic capacity rather than a new system request this would be impossibly long. Maybe it is because it is Amsterdam? I checked out logs and the last action, just over an hour ago, was the droplet creation. So it all went through as expected.

Apparently they get queued and can take a while. Might be worth opening a ticket.

Made another in the NY datacenter and it was created instantly. Must be something to do with capacity in the Netherlands.

Is it the same price no matter which datacenter you put it in?

Wow! That's above and beyond. Even more than Amazon level above and beyond.

They probably did it so I'd stop complaining... and I also already have a lot of stuff with them, we do all of our staging and so forth from there. You know those people that never shut the hell up when things go wrong? Yeah, I'm one of those.

Here is what they eventually said...
Thank you for the follow up on this issue. After closer review, it appears the build failed to complete. This resulted in the droplet not being created. You will want to re-attempt creating the droplet. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Okay, started over and managed to make the Dutch FreeBSD instance now.
