Sharepoint 2010 to Sharepoint 2013 migration
-
I am currently working on a project where I need to migrate from SP 2010 to SP 2013. Completed almost all, but stuck with one issue. All users have a custom field "Employee ID" which has data on 2010, but once moved to 2013, its empty. This is related to the user profile synchronisation, and I couldn't figure out why and how to fix this.
Anyone encountered such issue?

If the custom field is associated with the respective users' AD account object then you should be able to map it directly in SharePoint 2013's User Profile service similar to how it would have been created for your SP2010 environment - https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee721049.aspx#MapUserProc
If the custom field only exists as a SharePoint field/property in SP2010 the above would still mostly be true, though a separate mechanism would need to be in place for the field to be populated.
Which method are you using to move from SP2010 to SP2013?

I followed the process as https://www.evernote.com/shard/s44/sh/72101cef-4371-49e7-a852-6a677e952218/f9cd833c09bc51ec304033a99da3783b
These are the notes/snapshots from the blogs I gathered to learn the upgrade process. Everything went well, only thing is on the mysite, each user profile had "employee id" has no data on SP 2013
