I think these are collaboration tools more than pure business apps like say Zoho CRM or Zoho Project. We are going to use all of them in our family (windows, linux, chromebook & android devices).
Zillum also has it's own unified app/site so it's easier to move between Mail, Workdrive, Cliq etc.I know, we use all of that. But there isn't much of a family price break. I wonder how well it works if you are already on Zoho for work, I bet it doesn't play nicely. But my kids don't want to use those tools, nor does my wife. It would only be me.
what do they want to use?

Well, just the Workdrive Starter package is $2.5 per user normally, which is more than Zillum.
$3 is the total for all of those features. And check the four user pricing.

Nothing. Most people dont want to use spreadsheets and documents like that.

oh yeah, well sure - but come on - most people at one point in their life or another need a spreadsheet... that's not to say they should buy this for that 'some day' situation.

That's not really relevant. Nor is it true. Most people do not want a spreadsheet at some point. But what is relevant is if they want to pay for it monthly. Welcome to the real world, people don't want spreadsheets, let alone paying for them.
When you DO need one, Google and LibreOffice are free. Of people who use them once in a while at home, is nearly always Google Sheets.

People may not want spread sheets - but I am still of the opinion that at one point or another - they will want to make one, at least once in their adult life - if for no other reason than a list.
And I agree - NO ONE wants to pay for it. most would likely use google sheets or excel online as part of OneDrive/Outlook.com (which is also completely free).

Right, but just because you have that opinion isn't reflected in the real world where 90% of people aren't sure what a spreadsheet is or how to use it and report never wanting to see one once they learn what it is.

No, it's not. As I said you're looking at Zoho app tiers with a lot less features and storage.

Yeah, it's a problem that doesn't even exist, with an abundance of existing solutions.
For those that DO want to pay for it, it's pennies difference to use the business account options that already existed.

You sure? What's missing?
-
I guess no Vault, but how many families want to use that?
-
@Pete-S said in Zoho Zillum - family oriented mail and cloud storage:
Zillum consists of:
Zoho Mail - 25GB mail storage per account, calendars etc
Zoho Workdrive - 0.5TB / 1TB / 2TB of total team storage
Zoho Cliq - Slack like team chat
Zoho Vault - Zoho's team oriented password manager
Zoho Office - Zoho's office appsHere's more info and pricing:
https://www.zoho.com/zillumSo for a family of four, that's $2.28/user/mo. And you get 25GB.
Enterprise is $3/user/mo. And you get 30GB.
But with enterprise you can mix and match by user. If you have users (teens, adults) who want the extra features, you pay the $3. If you only want email/cliq for the others, it's just $1. So if you don't want the office suite for everyone, you can save money with the business plan pretty easily. And get more storage. but I think you lose Vault.
-
Oh wait, no, we get Vault. So same features.
-
I love Zoho. I use Zoho. I pay for it for my company. 100% recommend day in, day out. It's just hard imagining the family use case for this, and hard to imagine there being a cost advantage.

What do you mean exactly by "Enterprise"? The only "Enterprise" I know is that some apps have an enterprise tier, for example Zoho Cliq. There is no Enterprise bundle that I know of.
Are you perhaps referring to the Zoho Workplace bundles? The "Standard" tier ($3/user/month) doesn't have much cloud storage and the "Professional" is double the price ($6/user/month) but it's the closest to Zillum features and storage.
-

Not all families are the same. Our kids use computers in school so our family needs are basically the same as any small organization of entry level office workers.
To avoid chaos we want to provide them with a "digital home" if you will. That's the use case.
Cost advantage is that Zillum is 50% cheaper for us, compared to just Workdrive Starter and Mail Lite.

Yes, that's the standard business bundle with the features. At $3 is get more email storage but less "other" storage. Although for documents and other stuff that the platform is meant for it is unlimited. So that's quite a bit depending on how you use it.
