The fan is a little irritating. But what can you do on something this small and compact. Oh yea... hit the slider switch and turn it off. But - I'll likely not do that right now.
Ha ha. You might be able to keep the fan off unless you're using it heavy.... I monitor the temp with SpeedFan on my Windows boxes (anybody know a good replacement for that?)
here you go,...Interesting. CPU temp seems to be good though. Run the fan if it starts melting.

Cool @gjacobse ! I could see that being useful and portable. Easy to dock with USB C

But you know what the N4100 it isnt terrible for a celeron. I dont know why Intel carries on the celeron name. It doesnt have the best branding behind it.

Looks pretty neat.

@gjacobse what purpose do these serve? I'm think like versus an ultra book or something.

Well - that is a very good question.. Likely - none. Even with having a serial port there likely isn't a good or real purpose. You can do everything it can do and more (likely) with a normal sized laptop.
The neat thing about this little puppy is the real nic and serial port, and small size. at six inches it is only a tad wider then my iPhone 6s.. and it's USB C for charging.
It'll fit in a tool bag / box and has a long battery life at a projected 6-8 hours.... But the tiny screen would give any normal / sane person pause as to why to get it.
GPD has released or will release that they are doing another campaign for a 8.9inch model aimed at being the smallest ultrabook for a number of things - that is likely a better choice.
The whole idea on this was it's small size, battery life, ports and such for what work I was doing. That job ended yesterday and I start a new job as more of a Desktop / Server tech Monday. So I'll not need the serial port as much as I was needing it previously.

That's the story of my life: I always have the right laptop for my previous job...

6-8 hours of battery life is horrible by today's portable device standard.

How did you end up liking this system?

I liked it well enough- until there was issues with the battery. Which caused all sorts of issues.
I ended up selling it on eBay and taking a bath on it.
Great idea, just not as well implemented.
