Node.js Forked to io.js to Joyent's Dismay

Joyent is the creator and steward of the Node.js project and is sad to see its baby forked as satisfaction with Joyent's leadership as waned. $40bn taxi alternative Uber has already put io.js into production. The new project, io.js, is under a more open governance model that will likely attract a lot more attention of would-be contributors.
